The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has pledged to protect Igbos in the north - Arewa hd earlier issued three month quit notice to Igbos living in the region - Former Governor of Abia state, Dr. Orji Kalu who hosted the group said that the group promised to sheath its swords and embrace peace The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has finally made U-turn from the three months quit notice it issued to Igbos to leave the north before October 1. The group led by its chairman, Alhaji Shettima Yerima made the pledge in Abuja on Tuesday August 1 while paying a courtesy visit to the former governor of Abia state, Dr. Orji Kalu. 
Dr. Kanu in his Facebook post explained that: “It is the same group that made the Kaduna declaration in which three months quit notice was given to the Igbo living in the North. “The quit notice has actually been a source of worry to me because I knew the commitments of our people around the world not to talk more of being economic migrants in nature.
